Choosing the right catering equipment hire can be tricky but we’ve tried to make it as easy as possible for you with our selection.

How do I know which kind of oven hire I need to choose?

Getting a temporary or commercial kitchen set up on a budget can be a difficult thing to do, particularly if a customer has not had to hire equipment before. Oven hire is one of the bigger components of any kitchen and getting it right is important.

At Expo Hire Thames Valley we offer a choice of both LPG and electric ovens for hire; deciding which is the right one to order depends on the situation it is being hired into. Electric ovens for hire are for indoor kitchen areas where they can be used to bake, roast and grill food with ease. However, because electric ovens need lots of power they cannot be used outdoors. The wattage required by electric ovens to run is too much for temporary power supplies such as generators and extension leads and these will trip out when used with an electric oven. The correct choice for outdoor kitchens are LPG ovens like our six burner oven as they use LPG bottles to fuel the oven’s powerful burners. However, LPG ovens are not designed to be used indoors due to the potential lack of ventilation of exhaust fumes.

Hiring out high quality stock has always been something that we pride ourselves upon and because of this we frequently replace our ovens with new ones. This is particularly important with ovens which are often the main workhorse of a kitchen and allows our customers to order from us with peace of mind.

What kind of fridge hire is there?

Refrigeration is a necessity if cold drinks or food is being served at your next event or occasion, and sometimes what is already is in place is not sufficient. We work with commercial kitchens as well as with various events throughout Berkshire and Surrey to help with fridge hire needs. Our expert drivers deliver fridges for hire to venues throughout the Thames Valley area, helping to make sure that event organisers have all the fridge space they require.

We offer a huge selection of fridges for hire at Expo Hire Thames Valley. For example, our upright display fridges are one of our most frequently hired products we have on offer; going out on hire to places as diverse as retailers, exhibitors and event organisers. We also have in stock double door bottle coolers which are great as an under-counter fridge at bars and the like. For those customers who need more specialist products, we also have wine fridges, countertop fridges and chilled drink dispensers available.

We understand that commercial kitchens need space to not only store and chill food but also to prepare food. To help supply this need, we offer counter fridges with integrated workspaces which can be wheeled quickly into position with ease. At the other end of the spectrum, our extra large double door fridges are just what is needed for kitchens with large storage requirements.

Is there commercial barbecue hire available?

Cooking food outside at a big event or function doesn’t need to be a chore with the right equipment. While a garden party can easily make do with a standard bbq, we know that for our commercial customers, commercial barbecue hire is going to be needed.

The barbecues for hire we have available in stock have been chosen with large outdoor functions in mind and can easily feed hundreds of guests. The Cinders barbecue is an industry standard barbecue which among other things features two separate cooking areas, allowing for meat and vegetarian menus to be cooked at the same time without fear of cross-contamination. We also stock gas bottles and wrenches so customers can be sure they have everything they need to get going quickly.

Do you need to order gas?

All of our LPG equipment is supplied without gas bottles. Please order separately if you need them

  • 13kg LPG Bottles are suitable for patio heaters
  • 19kg LPG Bottles are suitable for all other LPG equipment we stock
  • 30mm wrench required to attach bottles to equipment - can also be hired separately
  • If unsure about connecting bottles to equipment utilise a Gas Safe Engineer

What do I need to know about catering equipment hire?

You can hire with confidence from Expo Hire Thames Valley, as we pride ourselves on delivering products that are of good quality and high standards. With this in mind, we clean, inspect and PAT test all electrical items prior to delivery, and can also provide proof of this if needed. Please Note: Our electrical products are all fitted with a 3 pin UK plug. It may be necessary for you to check the limitations of the wiring in your venue, to ensure you do not overload the system.

We're very proud at Expo Hire Thames Valley of our commitment to safety with LPG products. All of our gas products are regularly checked and tested by Gas Safe engineers, for safety.

Evidence of this can be provided upon request, once your order has been confirmed. Please Note: All gas equipment from Expo Hire is supplied with a hose and bayonet fitting that can be connected directly to the standard bayonet fitting on your LPG bottles.

Our drivers cannot connect or set up equipment for you. If you are not comfortable with this, please seek advice from a qualified gas engineer.

Do I need to clean catering equipment hire before it is returned?

Does the thought of cleaning your catering equipment hire after your event give you the chills? If washing up isn't your forte, or time is a factor while you're getting stuff cleaned up then our "send it back dirty" service might be just what you need.

We know just how dirty catering equipment hire can get after prolonged usage; especially products like ovens and barbecues. Instead of getting out the marigolds and sweating over scrubbing equipment, for just 25% of the hire price you can leave it all to us. All you need to do is to add the "send it back dirty" service in the checkout and then wipe clean any food debris or liquid before collection; we’ll sort the rest.
