Surrey is a county in south east England and one of the home counties. It borders Kent to the east, both East and West Sussex to the south, Hampshire to the west, Berkshire to the north-west and Greater London to the north-east. The county town of Surrey is Guildford, although the council itself is based in Kingston-upon-Thames which is actually in Greater London. Surrey has a population of 1.1million people, making it the third most populous county in the south-east.
The county is affluent, with the highest GDP per capita in the UK and the highest cost of living outside of London. There are many organisation and company HQs in the county, including Canon, Toshiba, Samsung and Philips, along with Pfizer, Sanofi-Aventis and the oil giant Esso.
Surrey is well served by transport links. The M25 cuts through the north-east of the county, passing through or near Egham, Chertsey, Weybridge, Epsom, Redhill, Caterham and Oxted. The A31 goes from Farnham in western Surrey through Guildford to meet the M25 near Woking, while the A24 comes from the south of the county, passing through the Surrey Hills Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty along with Dorking to meet the M25 near Leatherhead.
Our vans are often in the area delivering various pieces of hire equipment. Some of the towns you might see us in include:
We deliver all kinds of hire equipment, some of which is outlined below.
Linen is a very important part of many special occasions. We have a wide variety of colours, shapes and sizes of linen to help you to find just what you require.
We stock linen in a range of different colours. You might be looking for a tablecloth so that your tables match a particular aesthetic; or it might you’re looking to use table runners to just add a detail of colour to your table. We have stock available to help work with either kind of idea.
Because banqueting tables come in various different sizes and shapes, so does our linen. We have linen to fit all the standard sizes of dining tables, and our team can help advise on what size linen you need depending on how much “drop” you want surrounding the tables.
The knife, fork and spoon are some of the cheapest items we offer at Thames Valley Catering and Event Hire, but they are an integral part of our business and the growth we have seen. With five different ranges of cutlery always in stock we have literally thousands of pieces of cutlery ready for hire.
Cutlery isn’t just about forks and spoons though. We offer speciality knives and pieces of cutlery equipment to make serving at your event or special occasion easier. Whether you’re cutting cheese, meat or even a wedding cake, we’ve got the knife you need for the job.
If you hate washing up, you don’t need to worry. Our “send it back dirty service” means that you can scrape your cutlery, put it all back in the packing crates and leave it for us to handle back at our warehouse. It certainly beats washing spoons up until the early hours of the morning!
We have a great selection of table hire to suit a wide variety of events and special occasions. We can offer anything you might need from designer tables for events and conferences to traditional banqueting tables for weddings and functions.
Tables generally come in three types, based on how tall they are.
The tallest style of tables are called poseur tables or cocktail tables. These tables that you might find at bars and at cocktail parties and are designed either for standing up around or sitting at on bar stools. Our selection of poseur tables come in a range of colours and styles.
The lowest style of tables are coffee tables. These are low tables which are used for placing cups of coffee (hence the name), magazines and the like on and are usually surrounded by sofas or couches. We have a range of coffee tables for any type of event.
In the middle are banqueting tables. These are a set size (30 inches) in height and are the standard size for dining tables. We have round, oval and rectangular tables which can help with any size or layout of room.
